Set a Goal. How much money does your group needs or want to raise? A fundraiser without a goal is like an arrow without a target. |

Develop a plan. Calculate how many members must participate and how much each member must buy in magazines in order to reach your group’s goal. Include a timetable, normally 6 to 9 months. |

Make a fundraising schedule. A schedule means a calendar of events. Plot out your key dates and the type of communication: Email campaign, direct mail campaign, promotion at other alumni events, website banner link etc. |

Use one communication campaign at a time and watch the results. Doing one fundraisers and doing it well produces better results. |
